Cameron Boyce, The Brightest Star Who Died at 20, Lived a Glorious Life!

Hollywood is filled with stars who started at a very early age and then gradually rose and achieved stardom. But it is not often that we see that these stars fade away from the world at such a young age. Twenty-year-old Cameron Boyce, the famous TV and film actor, however, did. According to the family’s spokesperson, Cam died in his sleep on July 6, 2016, due to a seizure.

“It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron,” The family spokesperson confirmed. “He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure, which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated. The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.”

Although, not much detail has been revealed about Cam’s condition and cause of death, it is said that the seizure occurred due to an ongoing medical condition. The news spread like wildfire, leaving everybody in severe grief and shock. Cameron’s family has confirmed the story with a heavy heart. They politely requested the press to respect their need for privacy as they grieved the loss of their beloved son and brother.

From a Confident Child artist to a Spectacular Teen Actor, Cameron Journey in Hollywood

Looking at the glorious life history of Cam Boyce, one could not believe that the super talented actor is not with us anymore. Cam was in Los Angeles on May 28, 1999. His parents loved him dearly, and his family life was a cheerful one. His parents always supported him at every stage of his life, and his siblings Libby and Victor Boyce, and younger sister Maya loved him dearly either.

Those who knew Cam recognized him as someone soulful with the love of dance and music. His performing talents emerged first in a dance studio, from where his parents recognized his true passion. Later, as he explored things further he achieved great success and fame in commercials, TV series and Films as well.

Cameron’s Debut

Cam was an exceptionally talented artist who appeared on television as a child artist. His first appearance on TV was on May 2008 in the music video “That Green Gentleman (Things Have Changed)” which was part of the show ‘The Panic’. He played the younger version of the guitarist Ryan Ross. Cameron’s next role was a recurring one as he appeared on the screen playing Micheal Stone Cates Jr. This was for the famous night opera soaps of that time, General Hospital: Night Shift.

With his amazing performance even as a child, Cam instantly became a highlight on the TV. Later in the same year, he made his feature film debut with ‘Mirror’ which was a horror movie. When people saw this confident young kid with incredible acting talent, there was no stopping by for Cameron. In the same year, he also made an appearance in another mystery thriller film, Eagle Eye.

A Spectacular Spell of Disney Projects

In 2010, Boyce landed another prominent role in the comedy movie ‘Grown Ups’. In this film, he flaunted his excellent acting skills as Keith Feder, who was the spoiled son of Adam Sandler’s character. Besides acting, Cam was a wonderful dancer as well. He impressed the audiences with his grooving dance moves in the web series ‘The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers’.

2011 was another excellent year for Cameron as he made many small but significant appearances in many Disney Projects. In April 2011, he did a cameo in the series ‘Good Luck Charlie’ on Disney Channel. Cam was also a featured dancer on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars for the Royal Wedding Tribute. In June that year, Cameron also did small roles for films like Judy Moody and Not Bummer Summer.

Although Cam’s debut was a success, his real fame cycle started from the famous Disney show ‘Jessie’ in which he played the character of Luke Rosee in September 2011. The show was a super hit and ran for four seasons which gave Cam Boyce the real chunk of popularity.

The Descendants Film Series

While Cam was successfully playing Luke in Jesse, he was cast in another Disney’s project called Descendants. In the film, he portrayed the role of Carlos, the son of Cruella de Vil. Considering his popularity in the film, the producers also offered him to play the character for the animated spinoff Descendants: Wicked World. Cam also continued to play his role in Descendants 2 which was released in 2015.

By this time Cameron Boyce was a well-known name who rose to fame through his Disney projects. Kids and adults loved him equally, and his demand grew more and more. In 2016, Cam continued to impress with his performance by playing the role of ‘Conor’ in Disney’s XD series, Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything. His role in Grown Up’s two was appreciated a lot by the audience as well.

Along with acting projects, Cameron did a lot of voice-over infamous series and film such as Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Spider-Man 2015. Cameron was the part of Descendent 3 as well; he shot the whole film which will be released next month in August. Unfortunately, this will be the last time we will see Cameron Boyce on screen.

A Great Loss for Hollywood’s Future

The entire Hollywood community, especially the Disney Empire, is grieving the loss of their brightest star. CEO Robert Iger, who is also the chairman of Walt Disney Company, reacted on Boyce’s death through Twitter on Sunday. He wrote

“The Walt Disney Company mourns the loss of #CameronBoyce, who was a friend to so many of us, and filled with so much talent, heart and life, and far too young to die. Our prayers go out to his family and his friends.”

Cameron’s Charity Work

Besides being a fantastic performer and actor, Boyce was a kind soul who had empathy for people even in such a young age. Boyce supported a charity group named ‘The Thirst Project’ to which he gave a handsome amount on his eighteenth birthday. Speaking about it, Cameron said such ironic words that resonate now more than ever. He said:

“I want to leave something so much bigger than myself when I’m gone. I don’t want to waste time thinking about what I should do anymore — I just wanna do it.”

For this charity work, he was appreciated for his efforts to strengthen the struggle against the world’s water crisis and was awarded by the Pioneering Spirit Award in 2018.

Boyce recent interview in March 2019 revealed a lot about his past and present. He talked about an indie film he was excited to do called ‘The Runt’ in which he played the role of an ignored teenager who faced violence. In the same interview, he talked about his grandmother, Jo Ann Boyce’s, and how she was is an inspiration to do civil rights work.

Cam also received a Daytime Emmy Award in 2017 for ‘Outstanding Promotional Announcement’ in conjunction with his participation in their series ‘Timeless Heroes — Be Inspired,’ honoring Black History Month.” He made an extraordinary appearance in the video with his grandmother as she was one of the famous Clinton 12; the twelve teenagers who were first to unite into public school in Clinton, Tennessee.

The Last Instagram Post

Cameron Boyce’s last post on Instagram was a black and white headshot which was posted, on Saturday, a day before his death. The photo was taken from a recent interview with ID magazine. His fans are still posting comments expressing their grief and sadness.

Cameron Boyce Achievements

Cameron was not only a young public figure but a rare talent which was refining with age and experience. In 2012, he won the Young Artist Award for best performance in a feature film. It was for his role in the ‘Judy Moody and Not the Bummer Summer’

Although, it was reported that Cameron died in his sleep from an epileptic seizure due to an ‘ongoing medical condition’; the real cause has not been revealed until now. The medical autopsy report Cam with claims that the investigation is still in an ongoing phase. However, the star was diagnosed with epilepsy a few years ago.

Whatever the reasons were behind the Cameron Boyce death, one thing is for sure. The Disney realm and Hollywood lost a unique young talented artist with millions of die-hard fans. But in life beyond the camera, Cameron was also a kind person with a pure soul who won lots of hearts. He is and will surely be missed.
